(HONG KONG, 22 SEP 2023) – The annual Festival of Australia has returned! Taste gastronomic delights from twelve top-notch restaurants featuring Aussie dishes as the monthly special in October. For those who love to cook at home, discover a wider range of premium Australian products across five leading retailers.
Australia is a top choice for chefs and foodie connoisseurs. Australian indigenous ingredients are sought after around the world, and Hong Kong is no exception. Produce paired with unique indigenous ingredients can be found on the menus of Michelin-starred restaurants and on the shelves of high-end retailers.
For the launch of Festival of Australia on 22 September, renowned Indigenous chef, Bundjalung man Mark Olive of Midden by Mark Olive at the Sydney Opera House is in Hong Kong to introduce native Australian ingredients to Hong Kong foodies and share tips on how to use indigenous herbs to add flavour to everyday dishes.
Michelin-starred Australian chef Shane Osborn, CEO of Arcane Collective, Hong Kong is also celebrating Festival of Australia at his restaurants Arcane, Cornerstone and Moxie, which will be using aromatic indigenous herbs to capture the unique flavours of Australian cuisine.
Throughout October diners will discover unique menus featuring fresh Aussie sustainable seafood, wagyu beef, free-range lamb and chicken at well-known hotels including Fullerton Ocean Park Hotel – Lighthouse Café and Lounge, Grand Hyatt Steakhouse, Hong Kong Gold Coast Hotel – Café Lagoon, as well as, AMMO, Feather & Bone, Francis, Giovanni Pina (Central), SOUTH LANE and VEDA restaurants.
Festival of Australia continues with five leading retailers showcasing Australian products sourced from Queensland and other states. Connoisseurs will be able to shop for favourites at:
- 43 Market Place supermarkets from 29 September to 26 October
- 10 Feather & Bone retail stores from 1 to 31 October
- PARKnSHOP, Fusion, TASTE across 22 stores from 6 October to 2 November
- 7 YATA supermarkets from 10 to 23 October
- 3 Slowood sustainable grocery stores from 11 to 31 October
Wine-lovers can also join a wine tasting class by MWM Wine School - where diners can sample some of Australia’s premium food and wines.
