My Australian Christmas Card Competition

"My Australian Christmas Card Competition" 2022

Entries close: 18 November 2022

The Australian Consulate-General invites primary and secondary students in Hong Kong to participate in the My Australian Christmas Card Competition 2022.

Young artists are encouraged to get creative and consider how you might celebrate Christmas in an Australian summer, which is different to celebrations in northern hemisphere locations like Hong Kong. In Australia, Christmas comes in the middle of a very hot summer. Images of snow, fireplaces and warm clothing are less common. Many Australians spend their Christmas outdoors, at a beach or camping. Christmas dinner can be a barbeque in the backyard or a picnic on a beach or in a park.

Christmas is a time for family and friends to get together, to reflect and share what the spirit of Christmas means to you.

The winning design will be featured as the official Christmas greetings of the Australian Consulate-General Hong Kong and there are prizes up for grabs too!

My Australian Christmas Card theme: Green Christmas

This year’s theme is Green Christmas. Whether celebrated on Australia’s famous ocean coastline, in lush tropical forests or in the dry, sandy outback, Christmas is about spending time with friends and family.

But what about all the added waste that comes at Christmas time? We all know we have to do our bit to reduce waste and protect our planet. With a little bit of imagination, you’re invited to express your ideas for a greener, sustainable Christmas, that celebrates the season, while caring for the earth and each other.
