Queensland Local Government Elections
Local Government Elections: Saturday 28 April 2012
Australians visiting or residing in Hong Kong or Macau are advised that there will be Queensland Local Government Elections on Saturday 28 April 2012.
Confirm your enrolment online, click here (www.ecq.qld.gov.au) or contact the Electoral Commission of Queensland (ECQ) by email: firstname.lastname@example.org or fax: +61 7 3229 7391. The Australian Consulate-General is not in a position to confirm your eligibility.
The electoral roll for the Local Government elections has closed. People not on the roll will not be eligible to vote.
Once you have confirmed your enrolment, you may vote in one of two ways:
Any elector who wants to apply for a postal vote in the Queensland Local Government Elections should complete the ‘Applications for a Ballot Paper’ (Form 12). Form can be found here.
The form must be completed by the elector and either faxed by the elector to:
+61 7 3036 5770 or scanned and emailed by the elector to: email@example.com as soon as possible.
The form must be returned no later than 4pm Hong Kong time (6pm Queensland time) on Wednesday 25 April 2012.
If electors do not have internet access, a copy of the ‘Application for a Ballot paper’ form can be collected from the Australian Consulate-General in Hong Kong – 23/F, Harbour Centre, 23 Harbour Road, Wan Chai.
